  • Wednesday Night Student Ministry

    Social Time, Learning, Small Groups, and Service

    Middle and high school students and their friends


    Optional Pizza served at 6:00, suggested donation of $1 per slice

    Large and Small Group Programming at 6:30-8:00 (students broken out by grade)


    Students play games, worship, gather for special events, and chat and learn in small groups.  2022-2023 topics for student ministry are driven by student questions of faith, life, and Scripture.  Students participate in service opportunities every other month.  

  • Confirmation

    Students consider saying yes to their baptism vows.  

    Students can be confirmed in the fall of their 10th grade year (or anytime after).  Students and parents are highly encouraged to participate in the following activities 6th through 9th grade as preparation for confirmation.

    • Regular involvement in Wednesday Night Student Ministry, which includes small group times with pastors in 8th and 9th grade
    • Completion of 6 worship trackers each year
    • Participation in 2 parent-student nights each year
    • Serve during Summer Stretch at least one summer 6th-8th grade
    • Go on the senior high mission trip between 9th and 10th grade
  • Annual Events

    The Grove offers occasional trips and special activities each year.  Examples of activities include:

    • Senior High and Middle School Retreat
    • Advent Family Worship
    • Student Family Events (ex: sledding, hayride, state park)
    • Fat Tuesday Pancake Breakfast
    • Lock-In
  • Summer Programming

    Summer Stretch

    Wednesdays in June, starting June 11

    For students who completed grades 5-8. Friends are welcome!

    Students will register for individual sessions

      

    In the morning, students volunteer in community service projects. At noon, students return to the church for lunch and afternoon activities. Past projects have included: thrift stores, gardening, childcare, feeding programs and senior programs. Past afternoon activities have included water parks, Sky Zone, bowling, and Valley Fair.

     

    Summer Stretch Interns (Leadership Opportunity)

    Wednesdays in June, starting June 11

    For students who completed grades 10 through college

     

    Students provide leadership for the Middle School Summer Stretch program.

     

    Namekagon Canoe Trip

    July

    For students who completed grade 9-12, adults of all ages

     

    3 night, 4 day trip Canoeing the Namekagon River with Camp Amnicon


    High School Mission Trip

    July

    For students who completed grade 9 and up; Adults of all ages
